Putting the duvet inside the cover is a two person job.

Getting two children ready for school is definitely a two man job - we see it as being part of a tag team.

Another one shortly to come up is, I will have to put up two new curtain rails, now OK screwing the holdings in, but as length is far beyond my arm spam, how am I going to get the rail clippped on without it bending wobbling about on the first few fastenings ?

take your high heels off katex - you'll be fine then :D

You ladies must have had good men by your sides - I never did - I always had to do such jobs without help - just use some ingenuity - :D

Think might have been a hint of it further back in the thread alan :D

Can picture the wallpaper bit .. dropping on yer head like, however, have a decorator in at the moment and has re-papered a couple of ceilings on his own, so must be an art to this.

I manage to put a king size cover on my duvet alone.....I just use two spring clip clothes pegs to help.
Folding a king size sheet......I do that while it is still on the line.

Some of our customers .. duvet covers that mainly finish up in hotels, like us to leave two holes on the seam either side .. big enough to get the Housekeeper's hands through to pull it up to the top (or bottom whichever way you look at it).

A little aside I know, but 'tis my thread so feel justified. :p

My brother just reminded me of this little song by Flanders and Swann as he was trying to sort out why one of my sockets wasn't working, may have been some disturbance by the decorator .. don't think so though, but not prepared to get my floor boards taken up to sort, will have to find somewhere else to plug in my hairdryer, curling tongues and straightners:-

The Gas Man Cometh - Flanders and Swann
'Twas on a Monday morning the gas man came to call.
The gas tap wouldn't turn - I wasn't getting gas at all.
He tore out all the skirting boards to try and find the main
And I had to call a carpenter to put them back again.

Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.

'Twas on a Tuesday morning the carpenter came round.
He hammered and he chiselled and he said:
"Look what I've found: your joists are full of dry rot
But I'll put them all to rights".
Then he nailed right through a cable and out went all the lights!

Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.

'Twas on a Wednesday morning the electrician came.
He called me Mr. Sanderson, which isn't quite the name.
He couldn't reach the fuse box without standing on the bin
And his foot went through a window so I called the glazier in.

Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.

'Twas on a Thursday morning the glazier came round
With his blow torch and his putty and his merry glazier's song.
He put another pane in - it took no time at all
But I had to get a painter in to come and paint the wall.

Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.

'Twas on a Friday morning the painter made a start.
With undercoats and overcoats he painted every part:
Every nook and every cranny - but I found when he was gone
He'd painted over the gas tap and I couldn't turn it on!

Oh, it all makes work for the working man to do.

On Saturday and Sunday they do no work at all;
So 'twas on a Monday morning that the gasman came to call...

:D:D Sure you all been there at times.

I know one job that needed three of us - the "easy self assembly" garden shed which we used to have. Like a giant meccano kit but you were supposed to hold one bit up whilst bolting another bit on that was a good six feet away!!!!

Re: "It takes two ba-ee-bee"

Most self assembly kits are a 'team' job...and often you need an interpreter to define and explain the instructions....although at our house we call them 'destructions' for a variety of reasons.
