A nice surprise - you are the only man who has offered sympathy - you might make my buddy list yet - thank you :D

(that IS worth a big smiley)

I have long been phobic of the dentists and up until March of this year, had not visited a dentist in 41 years.......i had numerous broken teeth (none visible) and used to file down the rough edges with a diamond nail file.
I was registered at Accy Vic and the team there were patience personified.....coaxed me along and eventually got me to have the broken stumps removed......I am just coming up to my first six monthly check up.
While I can't say that I am looking forward to it....I no longer have the paralytic fear that has always gripped me in the past.

Dentists today seem to consider their patients needs much more than they used to and I think thar puts people at ease.:D

my phobia stemmed from the School dental service that used to be on Cannon St......I had some horrible experiences there.

We used to go there, I remember one time my sister was a right mess after having a tooth out there and she is terrified of dentists now!!

I am sorted - yipee
I was given the option of a few days of antibiotics before extraction, or have a bit more pain with extraction today.
No hesitation - 'ged id aawt' (I do tend to get a bit basic when in pain ;))

There is always a bright side to any suffering - I now have £16 a month more spending money :D

If you had mentioned it on here while I have been on I would have told you what I told Margaret earlier, that dentist has a notice on the door saying that they are taking patients on. I will put the number up again for anybody who is looking for a NHS dentist. 691311 it is just at the side of Morrisons.:D
