Out of sorts!!

For a couple of days now I have been feeling out of sorts.
I put it down to sailing and thought it would pass. Unfortunately not :(

I felt ok today, but feel really crappy again tonight!!

I know there were quite a few bugs going around a couple of weeks ago, everyone seemed Ill.

Are there more going around again?? OR is it just me??

Just keep feeling light headed and woozy!! then sickly, then head ache ... and generally feel YUCK!

worst bloody thing about this time of year

There are a couple of bugs going around, one flu-like and the other a tummy bug. Busman has had both and I seem to be coming down with one too now.

We now have a name for your malady Slinky. Apparently it is called Norovirus and is commonly found on cruise ship. Your symptoms match perfectly.

I have just read this on wikipedia

I know what you mean by the ship thing!!

But I dont think it was that. I wasn't sick as such, just felt queezy. It was more the HEAD FUZZINESS and dizzy feeling ( a bit like vertigo )

It was interesting to read though, and a lot of people get it on ships apparently.

Re: Out of sorts!!

Bearing in mind that you only went for a few days it could quite possibly been a mild form of it!!

Yes very true. And actually I was sick on the ferry about 3am on the second night. It wasn't sea sickness, cos when I had thrown up, I felt better and was able to sleep.

Ginger felt very sick on the second day too.

And I heard a lot of people complaining about being/feeling sick on the 2nd or 3rd day in particular. And there was a lot more sick bags available round the cruise than the day before :D:D

I feel a lot better now. Just achy like a flu kind of ache.

It does sound like you had it if only mildly, glad you are feeling better.:D

Re: Out of sorts!!

I've felt like that for the past few days, although I haven't been on a criuse ship recently! Perhaps it was just a bug that people had before they came onto the ship and as they are quite enclosed it just spread.

I hope it didn't ruin your holiday too much Slinky.:)

Re: Out of sorts!!

Glad you feel better Slinks, hope you enjoyed your hols..:D It probably wasn't Norovirus (believe me, you would know about it if it was). We know it better as Winter Vomiting, profuse vomiting, usually accompanied by horrendous diarrhoea and spreads like wildfire.... If you had it your kids would definitely have it too plus, everyone you've been in contact with. It's a faecal/oral spread and because the vomiting/diarrhoea is uncontrollable it spreads rapidly in confined spaces eg, houses, schools, hospital wards, public transport (if any poor ****** is unlucky enough to be sick on it) The good thing is.... it only lasts about 24 hours and clears up on its own...

If you think you have it, let me know and I'll come round to yours....... I could do with a couple of days off work..:D

You don't want that winter vomiting thing Lettie. It's horrendous. You can't do anything. You would feel so rotten that you would wish you were at work!

I had it last year and thought I was on my way out with it. I have never thrown up so much in my life. Even when there's nothing left to throw up and you haven't been able to eat anything to replace it you're still retching away. It's vile.:(

OH GOD, no it was nowt that drastic thank god!!

I think it was just one of them " un named " virus thingies that like to do the rounds at this time of the year.

Well I hope that is it now because my friend is in hospital, and I can't go and see her if I'm not well!! :(
