Tourettes For A Day

The other day someone (can't mention her name or I will be sleeping on the sofa tonight) said she and some of her friend would like to have tourettes for a day.

I was just wondering if she was strange or if anyone else would like it for a day.

I best make it an anonymous poll

Suppose your understanding of their life would be helped greatly if you were to spend a day as one but it isn't something I would volunteer for myself.

Why would anyone wish themselves so afflicted
Tourette Syndrome - Henry Spink Foundation
Symptoms
Common examples of motor tics include eye twitching/blinking, facial grimacing, head jerking, shoulder shrugging, jumping, kicking, finger movements, jaw snapping, tooth clicking, frowning and touching people. Vocal tics include throat clearing, hissing, yelping, sniffing, grunting, tongue clicking, uttering words or phrases inappropriately (echoing others, or blurting out obscene words), repeating the same phrase several times

That's what I was thinking, Margaret.

I think that some people find Tourette's funny because you can swear all day and have a valid reason for it, but seriously, no I would not like Tourette's for the day.

Just as I would not like Parkinson's Disease or Motor Neurone disease for the day.:(

Tourette's is a serious affliction just like the other two I mentioned. It would be no joke.

It's great when you're doing the Shake 'n' Vac...and I'm forever being approached by the Salvation Army to play a tambourine.:D

Tourette's is a serious illness, and must be very debilitating for it's sufferers, but I don't think we should be so PC that we can't let a little humour into our lives.

I quite agree. God forbid that that should ever happen. I'm not a member of the PC brigade myself and would hate for anyone to think that I am.

I'm just puzzled by the fact that somebody fancies inflicting an illness on themselves. Still, I suppose it was just for one day.....and it was just a joke. :D

Two things I have always fancied being for a day are;

1) Invisible

2) A man

You could combine the two, and be an invisible man...even one that goes around shouting dirty words.:D
