A Cats Tale...

are you sitting comfortably? then i shall begin

My sister has just moved back up here from Bournemouth, on Friday she asked me if i could look after two of her cats for her whilst she found somewhere to live, i said 'yes of course i will'....Friday morning she brought the two cats round to my house, we put some food, biscuits and water down for them then left the house to go to town at 11.15...at about 2pm we noticed one of the cats was missing...we searched the house, proceeded to look around outside for her for several hours and couldnt find her, so my sis went and i went to bed, Saturday morning i made sure the other cat(flossy) had food and water and just left her to roam around the house, my sister turned up around 11 am to look for the first cat (snowy) and low and behold flossy had vanished, no doors or windows had been left open so i knew she couldnt of gone outside, but we went out looking for them both, a few hours passed and we still hadnt found them, we did the same thing most of the day sunday and still no sign of these cats, so we left it....i got a text from my sister at 6.30 this morning as she was on her way to drop her hubby off at work, it read...

'just been past your house and i noticed flossy sat on the windowsill in your house'

8.30 my sis turns up at mine determind to find these cats, we looked all over the place...yet again, and still couldnt find them, i put some more food out for the cats and we sat there wondering what to do next, then we heard a noise coming from the kitchen...we crept in to see if it was one of the cats...and there flossy trying to get out from behind my chest freezer (which we'd checked behind several times) flossy proceeded to the food and ate the lot, then my sister noticed that the chest freezer has an opening at the bottom of it...and what did we find there? the other bloody cat  they must of been there all weekend laughing at us

so the moral of the story is

never bring cats to my house :D

Did the fact that you hadn't opened any doors or windows not give you a clue?:D Glad they turned up safe and well

My cat loves hiding in wardrobes.
He was born in one.
Like men.... spend their lives trying to get back in

Flashy, I am convinced there is another dimension that cats can go in but no one else can. I don't believe they hide in obscure places - they disappear. We once had a cat that went missing for 3 days. Just when we had given him up for dead he walked out of the corner cupboard under the sink which had been searched.

I'm with you on the cats disappearing into a parellel universe. Ours are very good at it when they suspect a trip to the vet is on the cards. We can search the whole house and there isn't a sniff of a cat. We have cat-proofed all possible exists so we know they can't get out and still we cannot find them anywhere in the house.

Cats know things that no human will ever know.

Yep, when I was boarding my son's 2 cats, last month, they disappeared until nightfall every day for 3 days. They were, in theory, upstairs but apart from my grandaughter's bed, under which are boxes of books, toys etc. and no space for cats, all other beds have drawers underneath (so no space under them at all) and the wardrobe doors slide and were firmly shut. Once the cats got over the trauma of being abandoned at our house and got used to our cat swearing at them they were plainly visible every day, Harvey asleep on the stairs and Felix curled up on a bed.

I was feeding the cats next door , while they where on holiday. went in to feed them no problems . the next day i went in no cats, what do you do ? look for them! I was looking everywhere for about four hours .By this time i was panicking . I knew the cats have not got out, and the doors where locked , so where were they ?still couldn't find them. the next day i found one of them. I rechecked the back door, still locked.so i thought i will take it to where i could see it as you would. that evening went to look again, the other cat was there.so i brought that to my house. the next day the owners came back and i told them about it, and they said they must have gone out the cat flap!!!!lol
