Wouldn't affect me, when my older kids were younger, I bought them the hundred pound year long tickets, they used to go regularly so saved a lot of money, when my younger kids are old enough to go, they will have the same, I doubt they will charge extra to get in when you pay £400 - £500 per year.

If I go to blackpool normally with the nieces and nephews i dont go on the rides except for the grand national and maybe a couple of others - my favourite ride they took out - the log flume, and normally walk round with the nephews and nieces and they go on the rides. If you go Alton Towers you all pay to enter there dont you so in a way its exactly the same.

Can see why in one way but dont agree with it in another.

I went a few times as a child -- but really it is a thing that you should really grow out of ;)-- as time passes th' innards don't take kindly to all that shakin' abaat :D

They did this at southport... just before it shut completely.

I like walking round but don't often go with a view to spend all day in there. I'll usually chuck a few quid in machines, buy a drink etc. OK, it aint always much but its something which they won't be getting from me anymore.

Their loss though. Its not as if its full to bursting with people walking round and not going on rides now is it?

so what happens with parents with 2/3 kids who go on rides but parents dont? £20-£25 enterance fee n the kids can go on 5 of the lets say milder rides. the pleasure beach will go down the tubes quicker than the sewage.:rofl38::rofl38:

Well when we have our grandchild we sometimes walk round the pleasure beach just to see the look on his face , an absolute picture and a treat for us to see it .
Today a classic example . and fully enjoyable although we did only go because they were advertising various stuff there but when we got there nothing and no signs to say if or where the alledged entertainment was . however we still walked round .
Im affraid if this charge comes in to force it will be the end of us going there . because i like to decide if i want to go on rides when im there . if a ride entices me at the time i will go on it depending how i feel .
Last season we took grandchild only intending to go in the amusements and a walk etc but when we got there we decided to take him on the water chute .
I will happily stick to the south pier if need be where i can still walk round the rides and feel free to go on them should i wish and not be forced into spending money i dont want or need to .
I think since the sad loss of the elders of the thompson family the youngsters are getting a little greedy , but at the end of the day the pleasure beach has always had a freedom to walk round policy and never failed to be packed so why change something that works . just my opinion..

we go and walk round and spend lots on drinks arcades food looks like my money will be spent some were different could be the end for the place ,southport took one season to close when they done it greedy greedy

It will just serve the powers that be right, if families stop going,and all they get are mindless yobos...Its the families that spend the most money,,,JUST PURE GREED,

Not even like there is anywhere pleasant to sit at this Pleasure Beach if you are forced to pay the £5 just to walk around whilst your kids enjoy the rides.
Depends how old they are .. usually with a young child, you would accompany them on rides anyway (about my limit now anyway). Was never keen to go on the rides whilst chaperoning my son when he was a teenager and his friends. :eek:

At least at places like Alton Towers, lots of lovely areas, etc.

Can you also imagine the waiting times to get on these free rides anyway, would probably take up most of the afternoon !!
