I think it's meant to be geared to the children rather than the adult, just a variation of a mother & toddler club and probably more fun.

I have fond memories as a toddler, being danced around the Tower Ballroom, sat on her arm, to the music of that wonderful organ.
There used to be barn dance afternoons for mothers and children at Ossie Con Club in the late 40s.
It is a way of giving your children memorable times and learning social skills.

i used to love going to my dads 'works do' at xmas time, dancing on the floor with the 70's music blarin out...:D

its nice to have ya kids on family do's,(every now and then) but nightclubbing......NOOOO
