Do you know what a 710 is?

A few days ago a blonde came in and asked for a seven-hundred-ten.
The mechanics all looked at each other and another clueless. Another customer asked, 'What is a seven-hundred-ten?'
She replied, 'You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine, I have lost it and need a new one..' She went on to say that she did not know exactly what it was, but this piece had always been there.
The mechanic gave her a piece of paper and a pen and asked her to draw what the piece looked like. She drew a circle and in the middle of it wrote 710. He then took her over to another car which had its hood up and asked 'Is there a 710 on this car?' She pointed and said, 'Of course, its right there.'
If you ever lose your 710 you can show your mechanic what to look for by Clicking Here

I never lift the bonnet on mine.
Fortunately I only need to travel 1000 miles a year,
so the washer water bottle never gets empty between services.

I have a mental block when it comes to cars because one of my ex's was a mechanic - a motorised tricylce would do me fine - if you hear of one for sale let me know :D

Out of interest how often does it get serviced and what do you check on it yourself?

Re: Do you know what a 710 is?

It was serviced yesterday and it had been 15 months since the last service - and less than 1000 miles done due to my winter hibernation. I do check tyre pressures but that's not lifting the bonnet :)

Glad to hear about the trye pressures. It is amazing how many cars you see driving around with very soft tyres.

Wonder how many will admit to not knowing what the picture was. I know i didn't. Yes i do drive, been driving for 26 years but have never looked under a bonnet. That's what husbands are for.
