Oh, no it isn't

I got admonished the other day by a member that claims I am not serious enough! I treat threads far too flippantly! WE, he said take accyweb far more seriously than it deserves to be treated by you.

Shock, horror thought I, not because I had, (yet again), been told by some upstart that accyweb is a serious site, but at the fact that people have now decided that accyweb IS, a serious site.

Oh, no it isn't,

accyweb was started as a bit of fun, a whimsy, a simple idea of people separated by perhaps miles to get together and have a bit of 'crack' together.

A few years ago I tried to explain this to a very nice guy that took it personally and thought I had meant he was being serious, fortunately he is still with us and thread wandering like a good 'un.

I look back over the really stupid threads that all the members would on an instant be prepared to join in with,

Staggeringmans, let's do one, a thread started about an imaginary bank robbery that everyone wanted to have a go at.

Or even my silly little thing about Robin Hood and his merry men,

They are all still out there hidden behind, people with half an idea about how to run the Country, 'their way'.

No wonder the talent to make us laugh has gone, we used to come on here to get away from the idiots of the world and now..... some fool has taught the idiots how to use computers, they seem to have taken over, no longer is it safe for Uncle Less to come on and teach the kiddies how to slice their wrists as they make Daddy a krimbo, card.
We now have health and safety Police and people that, (let's face it), would ignore a dying man in the street screaming about race relations!

even if it means losing a few members can we please get back to the sanity of what accyweb was developed for? The people amongst us that still have humour, if you want to talk politics find a political Site, if you want to be a world freak and talk global disaster there are sites for you as well.

I want the wingey's, Sparkologists, Cashman, Mez, Letties and Yes, good old 'rindy, the people that made accyweb, back on here, anyone else please join in the old spirit that it was, what the site is meant to be or develop your own, I want accyweb to be accyweb it used to do very nicely without being serious!

Ha, just show's how wrong a person can be, every night at 02.00 A.M. a hard copy of everything posted on accyweb has to be printed out, (Eu in/1436/b [computer software initiative paragraph 5]), any page that doesn't already have carp on it may be re-cycled.

That doesn't leave a large amount of paper for the nail!

Re: Oh, no it isn't

NO, you are completely wrong...well your context is anyway.
Donkey stones were the domain of the houseproud housewife......the front steps used to be washed and while still wet rubbed over with a soft piece of sandstone.....which left a pattern on the steps and showed that they had been washed and 'stoned'......if you recall earlier in the post there was some alluding to cleaning......and I think it was Less who asked for a large sponge to clean his back.....so I just thought I would remind Accylass to take along a donkey stone for the front.
Less is old enough to understand about it, even if accylass isn't.
It was all about housewifely duties.......nothing sinister in that(at least on my part there wasn't).

Might sound a bit strange but I have used dolly blue in civil engineering and mining for tracing underground water seepage , like they say the 'owd ways are best ways ' you dont learn everything in school ;)
