That makes her your second cousin, I think .......... it's ages since I did the genealogy course on family relationships. I used to have a whole chart thing with them on. First cousin once removed, second cousin three times removed, all that sort of bumph.

Her Dad is just married to your Mum's cousin, right? Then technically there is no official relationship to you. Only blood relatives and one step in-laws (like m-i-l and s-i-l) have actual names in English. The person who marries your sister is your b-i-l. The brother of your husband is also your b-i-l. The man married to your s-i-l is not officially your b-i-l although is often called that.

The husband of your mother's cousin is just the husband of your mother's cousin.

I always get mixed up between 2nd cousins and cousins once removed so I'll see if I can look it up and then I'll let you know. I think Lilly is right though.

OK, so your Mum and her Dad are first cousins. Her Dad is one generation removed from you. That makes him your first cousin once removed. You and Lilly are second cousins. I can confirm that as I have now found my genealogy chart! :D

It's simple really once you have a common ancestor identified, in this case the grandparents of Lilly's Dad and Flashy's Mum.

:D You should have sen me trying to untangle Butch Cassidy. I still can't sort out his relationship to Charles Dickens! I do know his Dad was born in Accy though.
