Like the Karma thread if we delete a post for some reason and another member has quoted that post it has to be edited or deleted as well .
with all the quoting going on which really is not needed as the post is there anyway it makes it hard to edit threads and delete individual posts.
also if we have to do what Len says a mass delete of off topic posts that have gone way off thread then there is no way we are sitting here sending pm's out to every member to explain why.
it would just take too much time.
if its just the odd post then i tend to pm the person and explain but not every time.
so if your posting in a thread that has gone way off thread and you know it has then be prepared for the post to be deleted with any other off thread posts without a pm.
or your post edited if you quoted an off thread post

There is a world of difference between a wandering thread and an abusive or unpleasant interlude. Of course personal abuse should be reported/deleted but a natural digression in a thread is just that - natural. From what I have seen in 99% of cases the thread either returns to it's original theme or dies off.

In common with a few others it wouldn't be the end of my world if a post of mine were deleted. Come to think of it - it may have happened - it certainly once did on another website I haunt (I was naughty and used too many asterisks. I thought what I said was light-hearted but their mods thought it was too.....rude. :D) Can I say this again without upsetting you (or being deleted)? It's only a bl**dy website. :rolleyes:

I am very disappointed that West Enders post has remained with the * trying to get around the swear filter system.

I also see no need for you poor attempt of humour over the mater. I expect you will be removing your own post and pm'ing yourself as to why. :p

Personally I think the thread that seems to have caused all this upset, Jambutty's karma moaning thread, shouldn't have been in General Chat in the first place, but in Feedback and Suggestions, or Anything Goes.

I think I'll go and report it.:D

And if we are supposed to be a friendly forum...well, you can easily see how wars break out can't you?

I'm really sorry that Jen felt unable to sort it out, and like many others I will miss her on the forum. I hope her absence is temporary, and that she gets withdrawal symptoms soon.

My last post got deleted, folks. I posted a completely meaningless set of asterisks (to represent an non-existant word - you couldn't even have conjured one in relation to the text) and it was judged inadmissable. :D

It wasnt that willow In fact it was that my posts were deleted and others werent. That is what got my back up.

Is that you back then Jen? Hope so, I do feel the way to sort it out is to speak with the mods and get to the bottom of this, not like you in my humble opinion to go off on one without looking into it, look forward to more posts later.
