Bad Ale
We've had whats your favourite, now we want the bad ones.
Was in the New Inn in Ossy the other night, got a pint of bitter - Lees Awful stuff, didn't know if I had to drink it or wear it, tasted scented and smelt awful, had two sips and had to take it back, had a quiet word with the landlady and she changed it for me, didn't taste the new one, just smelt at it and give it her back - can't drink that S****, she said its only £1.50 a pint  So does that mean I have to drink it then, quite cheap as aftershave but I aint wearing it or drinking it, swap it for something else and I'll pay the difference, got a pint of Worthingtons, lot better :D See the other being poured down the sink, sad sight seeing any beer being thrown away but I enjoyed watching that one go :D If your in Ossy just try a pint - better make it an half cause you'll not drink it |
Re: Bad Ale

Re: Bad Ale
Had a few over the years,
one night went in the George when Jimmy was there, ordered a pint, didn't even taste it, It was like smelling the vinegar bottle, handed it back, Jimmy said, "The CAMRA guys are all drnking it and loving it" I said taste it then, he smelt it and gave me something new, so much for CAMRA expertise then............ |
Re: Bad Ale
Theres no such thing about bad beer, however some are better than others. Its like women, some are prettier than others.

Re: Bad Ale
Think he worst I ever had was Fremlins in Kent, with Courage (you need it to drink it) coming a close second, in fact there are only two things in life I hate that's bad bear and cheeky kids, which is what I keep telling my 40 year old Daughter when she gets a bit lippy:D

Re: Bad Ale
Unless you dont actually like the beer theres 4 ways you can get a bad pint:
1. Its a bad barrell from the brewery 2. The lines havent been cleaned 3. There is still a bit of glass wash in the glass 4. If you have eaten anything with strong onions or garlic it can affect the taste. Me & my brother went in New Inn on New Years Eve he got a pint of Coors, took 2 sips if it and ran to the toilets to throw up, he said it was disgusting. You could tell because it looked completely flat in the glass. He changed it to Grolsch and that wasnt much better, so he went onto bottles of Bud. I drink cider and have never ever had a good pint of it in the Bees Knees, its well known for it. |
