Incorrect Diagnoses.

I have on occasions had a few frights thinking that something serious was going on and chuckled with relief at my stupidity e.g.:

  • This morning looked at my hands and nails ... "Oh no, what is all that bleeding, have I got some dreadful haemorraghing condition" only to remember was the juice from the strawberry I like to put on my cereal in the mornings.
  • When son was about 3 months old, lead on changing mat .. thought he was throwing a fit, eyes flickering and going northwards ... daughter coolly explained, he had got some fluff in his eye from blanket
  • Bathing son ... noticed heavy purple bruising on his body .. leukemia ? No, had worn a new navyblue tea shirt, and due to sweat or getting wet, colour had migrated onto his body.
  • Heart attack day ? Oh hek, silly moo, the wire from my bra had popped out and was pressing on my chest !
Thank goodness all false alarms, but sure you have all had these moments.

Mmmm... interesting sexist remark. Could be an element of truth in that ... think we do panic more initially, particularly where ourselves and our children are concerned. ?

Not long ago I was informed I had a staff infection, I looked it up on the internet to set what it was, It was horrified when I saw that MRSA was a staff infection:eek: I was later reassured that although I had this infection the one that I had was not MRSA:rolleyes:

There was another occasion when I was on the overland tube train in London .... all of a sudden everything went pitch black, no chinks of light whatsoever ... no sound in the carriage, apart from what appeared to be people still turning over the pages from their morning papers. Oh my God ... I have gone blind !!! Adrenalin rush, heart rate 130 bpm.

Was very relieved when the train emerged from the tunnel, lights must have been faulty .. was very eerie as no one had made any comment.
