Do you feel harrased?
YouTube - The Police - Your Freindly Guides
A very funny film, i cant help laughing at the police girls face, not happy, but we must make a stand or we will lose out on life. “Playing safe is probably the most unsafe thing in the world" |
Re: Do you feel harrased?
Darren 'of the family Pollard', who made this film, is part of the 'Freeman on the Land' movement.
If you want to know what this movement is about you can find it here YouTube - darrenpollard1st's Channel He was arrested for using a megaphone in a public place and spent several nights in prison and was eventually released without charge. |
Re: Do you feel harrased?
when was that filmed Spex?.. I thought the anti-terrorist bill allowed the Police to arrest and question anyone filming..looks like I was wrong.

Re: Do you feel harrased?
For goodness sake the bloke is so obviously just trying to get a reaction from the cops. It is pityful really the lengths some folk will go to try and "prove" anybody in authority wrong. Has it not been discussed on here before how having CCTV from your window can lead to a charge? Jeez people like this just get on my nerves, trying to provoke the cops and maybe through his actions keeping them from more important things. Wonder how the kids you can hear in the background will respect ANY authority:rolleyes:

Re: Do you feel harrased?
Its a dodgy game to play and you can end up detained but released with no charge. I think really he should have turned off the camera when asked with todays laws, there are plenty on YT that show a different outcome. For me its more a film of what happens when people have some authority, oh! and a sour faced woman not quite getting her own way, she is very quick to get her phone out even though her partner is on the case already and has a go at winding him up. The film is from 2006 i think so things will have changed somewhat, the anti terrorism bill is an all encompassing "you are all guilty" package, even warning them he is filming wouldnt suffice as in the cctv scenario, a sign in the window "you are being filmed" used to be ok. Recently on the G20 protests in London the police where confiscating cameras, if you where lucky they tried to delete the shots on the spot, if not you lost your camera, but would we have seen the police brutality if the public had no cameras? Its a difficult job for them to do in todays world, i wouldnt want to do it, not everyone on a protest is there to protest, but are we all ready for a police state, i know i'm not.

Re: Do you feel harrased?
Take the time to look at it from their viewpoint.
This Freeman on the Land movement is a protest against, what they consider, breaches of all our civil liberties. Their argument is that many of our laws today are 'statute laws' which have never been voted on in parliament. Their policy is an attempt to detatch themselves from jurisdiction under statute laws and to depend only on basic common law. I am not a technical expert, but if laws aren't voted in by MPs why can they be applied? Unlike the poll tax rioters, these young men are challenging the laws peacefully, in a way that worked for Ghandi - peaceful non-cooperation. I can understand why they feel the need to do this. We are aware of the way our society is becoming very '1984'. This is their (peaceful) way of protesting against that. |

Re: Do you feel harrased?
I have been following Darren for a while on YT.
He did get arrested recently for his mega phone exploits and put to court and he stuck to his guns and was not charged. The reson for his arrest. YouTube - Darren Pollard arrested 11th July 2009 Then At court, where he played he game by his rules. YouTube - Darren Pollard in Court 20th July 2009 (pt 2) He got re arrested, outside court (there are another 3 videos) and there relesied without charge. Now he goes about it in his own way, and I think good on him. Police state uk. He broke NO laws. |
