That poor Lass/lad? South African Caster Semenya is to be prodded and poked by Doctors and forced onto a couch by a shrink, surely there must be cheaper and less intrusive ways of checking someones sex?

Below are two of my suggestions perhaps you can think of other tests.:)

Test 1

Wait outside the bathroom door if the suspect comes out waving a hand infront of their nose and says, "I'd give it a good 10 minutes if I was you".

Test 2
Give the suspect £200 and tell them to go and buy anything they want, if they come back after 8 hours having blown that money plus another £100 pounds of their own on the most impractical pair of shoes that are obviously three sizes too small, but are really, really, 'to die for'.

Oh.......my goodness, I am a MAN !

I could never ever spend that amount of money on a pair of shoes.......well, not unless they had new legs attached and a slim derriere.:)

Less, they won't do any prodding or poking, they will just do a DNA test...simple and painless.

Listening to a discussion whilst driving today ... so never quite sure heard correctly .. they do a simple swab from inside of the mouth for a chromosome (DNA as Margaret P pointed out) test ... ya' know XY and all that, if comes up a little dubious, will proceed with other tests. This takes two months to obtain a result.

There again, they were talking about the excess levels of oestrogen and testrogen suffered by some people too ... poor lass.

Calm down Girl? This is only a thread and it's in anything goes.

However if anyone out there would like a check up, (just to feel re-assured), either I, or my friend Rindy will give you a confidential examination, depending on which gender you would choose to be.

There are some individuals who have the female chromosomes (XX) but have 'streak ovaries'(gonadal dysgenesis)......these individuals do not produce the necessary hormones which would induce the development of secondary sexual characteristics......they are female, but cannot reproduce.......there are other Chromosomal abnormalities which can lead to ambiguity about their gender.......Many of them can be proved by taking DNA samples......only if these prove ambiguous would further intervention be required, and much of this can be done these days, by non-invasive procedures.

It is a shame for this young woman to be subjected to such harsh media attention.

Of course all this started years ago by a woman doctor who found out how to change women into men.
All was going well until she found that she had not got the "TOOLS" for the job.

I feel really sorry for this girl. I used to know a woman who looked like a man in drag. I was sure, when I first met her, that she was a transsexual as she was 5'10 and had wide shoulders but she wasn't, it was just the way she was made. She compensated for her "butchness" by trying to be ultra-feminine with bleached hair, exaggerrated make-up and false finger-nails etc. and she always wore frills and flounces; sad really as she looked like Lily Savage only bigger.

I can understand why they're testing this poor soul but it must be mortifying for her. Nature can be so cruel.
