Here's a Thought

It might seem to be along the lines of 'Conspiracy', that's why I've saved the Mod's the bother of moving it to anything goes.

Way back when I was in my 'yoof', through the 60's we had terrible cold weather, if I tried to describe the height of the snow everyone would say, exaggeration.

Then we had the 70's, '76 almost 5 months of drought, '77 absolutely raining profanity.

The 'experts' back then were making their money forecasting a 'mini' Ice-age.

Did it happen? No.

Then we got another set of 'expert's', predicting global warming.

Both set's of 'expert's', have been paid and will continue to be paid a fortune, to predict and make us feel guilty about what is about to or, has already been happening.

We are now in the grip of a 'White Christmas', it's coming and going the usual traffic has stopped flowing, everyone is blaming the 'authorities', for not getting things right.

Well, I'm neither for or against a mini ice-age or a global warming scenario.

I've never studied the climate on an amateur or a professional basis.

Here however is my prediction, take it or leave it, 100% correct, we will have weather, it may be sunny, it may be a touch wet and cold, however we will survive it, or not?

So why worry?

Happy New Year.

Re: Here's a Thought

if we all turn our thermostats down 2 degrees all that will happen is that we will be a little colder

crank up the gas peopel teh planets going to do whatever its going to do regardless of your efforts

us mere handfull of people doing our bit to save the planet is pointless when countries like america and china etc carry on regardless so in effect what we are doing is the equivalent of turning up to an earthquake with a dustpan and brush

So why do the Government insist on believing it?

Oh yes I just remembered why, they can tax us for not being environmentally friendly :D

If they really want us to use less fuel and produce less CO2 by making our homes more eco friendly - why not remove VAT from all materials that can be used to improve the insulation of our homes.
Has anyone ever noticed that whenever these "experts" come up with predictions about weather, epedemics etc, lots of companies make lots more money and the Government collects more taxes out of our pockets.

turning the heating down doesn't save my gas, i've put £25 on it this week and i'm still sodding cold and that's not even having it on perminantly, bollox to the so called climate change

Yes, it is called scaring the population into submission....the more scared the population are, the easier it is to rule them.

Oh and to dip their fingers still further into our purses and wallets.

Like the hike in fixed penalty fines......to go up to cover the cost of sex crime and domestic violence....since when has this anything at all to do with motoring?

And how would Sir like his balls?

With ice?

OR

Nicely toasted to a golden brown, with perhaps just an aromatic hint of CO2?

I'm trying my best to bring a bit of class down here, you can't expect me to change horses mid-stream and take on a Herculean task such as improving things around there for you, not at my time of life.
