Of course, you're £20 down on the deal but it's no bad thing having the occasional spring clean of fairweather friends. At 32, some people may say that I'm prematurely cynical but I'm happy in the knowledge that I have four or five true mates who look out for me as much as I look out for them.

Think that quite true Ken, once had an acquaintance who came into the local, he wasn't working and every week he used to ask me if I'd lend him a fiver until he got his Giro, well I did and sure enough the night he got his money gave me the fiver back as soon as I arrived in the pub, the only trouble was he asked me every week. this went on for a while until he came to repay me and I just said, no its okay you keep it then you won't need to borrow it again, never asked again:rolleyes:

As chairperson of the local Library Workers Association, I find this thread both threatening, and offensive.

You large print copy of How To Win Friends and Influence People is overdue, and therefore there's a hefty fine to pay.

;)

Nice that you told us yesterday that you have three friends.

So it's sort of worked...on a very small scale.
