Get well soon Tom
Yesterday our son Tom was away on a school trip when we received a phone call from school to say he was not well. He had stomach pains so we went to collect him.
When he came home he went for a sleep with Rhonda but the pain did not go. About 5pm ish Rhonda decided it was time for the hospital. They suspected appendicitis and moved him to an assesment ward. Typically our eldest son Sam, was on his way back from his French exchange trip. I collected him from school at 7pm and went straight up to the hospital. He was assessed by a very nice, but not much use, Doctor and had bloods taken. If I said Tom does not like needles it would be an understatement. I thought he was going to pass out just having that done. Tom was then moved to the ward and I stayed until almost midnight. Rhonda stayed with him all night. Not much sleep went on at home and I got a text from Rhonda early this morning to say he was booked in for an appendectomy this morning. I will be up the hospital again as soon as Rhonda's parents arrive to look after our other 2 children. Get well soon Tom we all love you. You are in the best hands ever as your Mum is with you and I am sure the staff will look after you as well. |

Re: Get well soon Tom
Although I haven't met the people concerned, I know what it's like to be a parent with a sick nipper. I would just like to wish Tom a quick & safe recovery & young Tom all the best. (Hospital stays usually involve new games for XplayDSstaionboxy thingy & Ice cream, make sure Mum & Dad are aware of this :D :D)

Re: Get well soon Tom
Get well soon Tom, and take it easy after the op. Hugs to you and Rhonda Niel, I know only too well what a worry it all is, my Dean suffered the same last year (As Rhonda knows). Poor lad I sent him to school the first day coz I thought he was putting it on a bit. It was almost ready for rupturing when we took him in the next morning :-( he was a lucky lad!.
I'm sure you'll spoil him when he's well. xx |

Get well soon Tom.......please can I come and take your stitches out.....? It is ages since I have done something like that.......and I do miss it. I promise I will be very very gentle.
Don't tell me that they use glue nowadays:D |
Re: Get well soon Tom
Thank you all for your kind wishes, I will show Tom this thread as soon as he feels better. And am sure Neil will post a photo of Tom in his lovely backless theatre gown, just to really embarrass him! X

When I told Tom about your kind offer he reminded me that Rhonda and I removed her stitches ourselves after her C section with Emily. It was not nice as the knots had started to be healed over if you know what I mean. |
Re: Get well soon Tom
Glad to hear he's had the op' and is recovering, perhaps he would like to make one of Unka less's Air fresheners to help pass the time away?

Re: Get well soon Tom
Oh Neil, that must have been uncomfortable for Rhonda.
I am very disappointed that I will not be required to come out and take his stitches out.......that was a job I was very good at.......and I used to love it. I like the picture of Tom in his theatre attire.......and you won't be able to embarass him much as you can't tell who it is. |

Re: Get well soon Tom
Yeah, but come on Cashy, one backside looks much like another one...in children anyway.
It reminds me of a story about an oxford Don who caught some female students sunbathing in the nip on the banks of the river. The girls hurriedly tried to cover up their boobs and their 'front bottoms'(a polite euphemism seeing as it is Sunday).......he remonstrated them with the comment that the way he recognised people was by looking at their face. It didn't stop the students from blushing though. This was in the forties...todays young ladies wouldn't bat an eyelid methinks. |
Re: Get well soon Tom
Hope the little guys well enough to watch England win tomorrow afternoon? n he won't have a relapse, cos there gonna win.......Honest.:);)

Ironing in the other room.......what a laugh! |
Re: Get well soon Tom
I would rather stick things in my eyes than watch football so ironing was the less painfull option :D
|
Re: Get well soon Tom
I would rather shove live wasps up my.......b, I mean nose....than watch any kind of sport.
|
Re: Get well soon Tom
I find it (sport) has only one redeeming feature.
It channels some agression and competativeness away from war ....i.e. it provides a war substitute for those with herd instincts PS off topic? - get well soon Tom - better out - you only get one appendix, so you won't go through it ever again :D |
