Accy lights switch on

Accrington's Christmas lights will be switched on by a tribute act to TV show Glee on November 18.

The fun starts outside Accrington Town Hall at 6.30pm which will be followed by the switch-on at 7.30pm.

This will be followed at 7.40pm with a firework display, weather permitting.

Admission is free and entertainment will be provided by the Gleek Club.

Who drags up this nonsense? Surely it would be better to get an Afgan vet up there to open the lights for free and any fee donated to a good cause, such as Help for Heroes?

...and a Bonnie Tyler licky-likey, going through the crowds with a bucket, belting out Holding Out For a Hero.
