A Single Life For Me

Just had a reminder from a friend.

Why am I single?

Well, one reason is that I no longer get suprises to do with the bank account when things are tight but she fancies a splurge.
Funnily if I did that it wasn't a splurge that was an extravagence.

But the main thing is, my weekends and days off are so much easier, I've lived in this house with Magnolia walls for almost 4 years and never been tempted to change them.
They would have been decorated within the first month with a partner.
O.K. on the minus side once every fortnight I have to pick my own clothes off the bedroom floor and stuff them, colours and whites together into the washer. (The advantage is, while the clothes are on the floor, no dust gathering on the carpet).

I have to make my own brews, what the hey, it tasted good out of this cup last time, I'm sure it will work again, NOBODY HERE TO OBJECT. (talking of which must move this multi coffee rimmed mug to the kitchen for another dose of bacteria).
Toilet seats up when I want it, down when I need it, no problem.
No tights or strange underwear hanging over the bath, (any women born after 1988 ask your mother about tights, you all wear jeans, (really feminine)).

Sex, well yes there are disadvantages in that department, but one great advantage is..
NO FOREPLAY, I don't need to find that magic G spot I know I haven't got it, why bother looking?

Oh yes it's the single life for me, unless...

You're up for a challenge?
:D

Why am I single?

Because it's not possible to have a proper relationship with yourself.

Coupling's never seem a natural state of affairs to me.

I love my independence.

It'd seem needy to me. To want to share everything.

Plus, deep down I'm sweet and kind, and could never be so cruel as to inflict myself on some poor soul.

:D

Very kind of you to reply rindy, but the bait was put out more for, well, someone like MagsR.
(Now we will find if I'm on her ignore list).

But what will you do if she takes up your challenge,Less ??? I'll bet you'd chicken out!
Anyway you're on her 'ignore' list, she'll never know what she's missing!
I tried being a male chauvinist pig on here a little while ago and only the two Margarets responded in the way I expected. I thought more of the feisty ladies on here would have eaten me alive. Lets see if you survive!

The title of this section is 'anything goes', I had chickened out by putting this thread in here.
A braver man would put the truth in 'General Chat'.
I may be single, I ain't stupid.

Well, I am not about to argue with the Logic of Less.

He picked the lady after all.

Some people just aren't cut out to be married...well not long term anyway.

Quite right Margaret I'm most ashamed that my marriage only lasted the best part of 30 years.

But did I pick?

Or

Was I plucked?

Can't beat it, Margaret. I'd love to be a male chauvinist pig but my wife would never allow it!
As for being single, I must admit I'd hate all that domestic stuff. We share-womans work/mans work. Just a shame the boss feels most of the mans work involves sitting down-I think she may be a biased feminist!

Don't get me wrong, I didn't put this on as a complaint, I put this on celebrating the fact I am now my own man, (have been for nearly 10 years) nothing to share no-one else to fuss about.

Although at the beginning of those ten years I had doubts, now, I know they are the best years of my life.
:D

Well, I wouldn't know the answer to that one Less.......only you know that one.

And you did well to last 30 years....some folk have trouble lasting 30 months.

If himself and I last until October we will have been married for 45 years.......and like most marriages it hasn't all been plain sailing......you do change over the years....some for better some for worse.......and it is up to you whether you can put up with those changes...or whether you really want to face the storms sailing solo.
