Many happy returns to Mr. AW.

Without your strong little swimmers there'd be no Accy Web.

We thank you.

Or more correctly, your spermatozoa.

All the best, and many happy returns. x

 :cake:

I intend to treat the day with the contempt it deserves, my thanks go out to all that have taken the time to remind me of reaching three score.

If the bible actually turns out to be factual, only ten more to go, but I plan to make them a very intense ten, third childhood here I come.

Less, haven't you heard that 60 is the new 40?
I never left my first childhood. Growing older is mandatory, but growing up is optional :)

NOOOooooo! Please be wrong, I was working somewhere around seventy hrs a week to support a young family at 40, I know the dole would like me to find some form of employment (so would I) please tell me that the hours can be shorter and the family isn't mandatory!

:(

To work out the true age of a man, you subtract the shoes size from the number of birthdays you've had, and divide by five.

You shouldn't really be wearing long trousers yet.

Better go.

Someone's come to change my nappy.

:D

A bit like any spare piece of grass not being covered by a thick layer of doggies whatsit you mean?
The wise amongst us know he's posted it somewhere, but if we are very careful we don't have to wipe the stinking heap off the soles of our virtual shoes because we kept to the pavements.
Oh, damn, silly me, even on the pavements we sometimes step into his crap!
Excuse me whilst I go to the edge of the curb to scrape it off, I do hope AccyWebs version of a dog warden doesn't think I actually did this.

You have taken me too literally Less....that isn't quite what I meant.
I meant that in the past people of 40 looked like they were in their sixties....nowadays people of 60 act and dress like they are in their 40's(I know it is a great hunking generalisation).

The government must believe that 60 is the new 40...they are wanting the oldies who have jobs, to stay in them for a lot longer.......how daft is that...they should be asking the older folk to sign up to an earlier retirement to give the young folk a chance to work.

Anyway Hope your birthday is going with a swing.

I would love to be in a position to help just one, perhaps (two?) apprentices through to a career in electronics, sadly, I and they are ignored, so much to offer to a yoof that would be so useful to society by working in proper jobs, too few chances for either end to secure the future for each other.
Still, the rich get richer, we have to count their blessings.

If only, they had talent and foresight.

;)

Yes Less, and that is so sad for the youths, and for the country as a whole.

That should read, one or two more apprentices, I am proud to say that not only through work, But also through enthusiasm, I have managed to put several relatives onto the trade (nowt' wrong with a trade it built real jobs unlike Uni') they now have.
A decent future, working hard and paying into a system that no longer gives rewards.

Re: Happy Birthday Less

What field in electronics?

Its something I have more of an interest in now than when I was a lot younger. Though I suppose my interest is more in computers and circuitry. Not that I know much about it now.

Regrettably I wasted my chances of learning when I was a younger(we know that story and it has no place here--and had a stupid dream of making it in music). I think its something I want to learn more as a hobby now, rather than to get employment.

When I am a bit better off financially I do plan on returning to college if I could-- I had planned on going to retake English and do some kind of creative writing course. But also I was hoping to get more into IT or electronics.

IT is replacing boards, electronics is knowing why the board needs replacing, good luck & choose your career wisely, one road is like a salesman, do this because it works..
The other is, do this because I know why it works!

As I said, good luck.

Make sure you give yourself the chance, then go and do it.

The best of luck.

So far, don't go there, why pretend to enjoy?
I hate my life, I hate what is coming my way, I actually sat getting drunk with folk not giving a stuff about me except one couple, they bought me a pint, thank you to them,
The rest including my relatives
don't rate a birthday over much.

Blimey!

Stop drinking pints of gin, and get back on the ale.

Your Accy Web family give a stuff, so sod the rest.

The very first year I joined AW I was invited to The Stag in the afternoon, to celebrate your birthday.

I got home at eight the next morning.

That's the way to do it!

Happy days.

When I'm feeling my age, I always tell myself to pull myself together, because one day in the future, you'll look back to the present time, and wish you were so young again.

Now sup, and shut up, and put your party hat back on...and remember no gin.

It loses it's medicinal effect, when watered down with tears.

;):D

Happy Birthday -was wondering why you'd forgotten to remove the red noses - just seen how old you are today, explains a lot:rolleyes::D

Do stop rumbling -almost seemed like you might be grumbling for a moment...

Get back to being sharp and keeping folk on their toes -and DO change the noses-PLEASE!!!

And just in case you are starting to get long in the tooth or a bit deaf and don't get the message:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Re: Happy Birthday Less

Thanks.

I think I would prob do this as a hobby unless/until i find I can become good at it-- perhaps a I can make a career out of it-- I wish I could because I don't have much interest in anything else apart from music. At 33 I already feel that I failed in life; but as a hobby I can use it as a way to take my mind off things much like alcohol does..

For example when modifying xbox1 to run a sata 1TB hard drive(i had to order a part from china to make it work) it takes me a few hours to take it apart and put it back together again. It occupies my mind and In that time I haven't thought about anything else(in a way this belongs in the relaxing thread). I drink too much. Happy Birthday :)
