Utopia

Following on from my Room 101 thread, I thought we should have the upside of that dismal coin by showing what gives us all masses of pleasure.

I'd like to start with afternoon tea and Nice biscuits.

I'm a man of very simple pleasures.

Re: Utopia

Real ale and proper pubs.

I cite The Victoria (aka the Butcher Brig) in Great Harwood - best pub ever!

Freshly laundered bed linen.

Re: Utopia

So, to summarise, piggin' out, pishing it up & going to bed, sounds like a normal week-end for some. :)

Ken, they are all in my list as well - simple pleasures indeed.

Re: Utopia

Freshly laundered, cotton, line dried, bed linen.
A brew of strong tea - made with proper tea leaves and a Coffee Renoir.
Jeans that fit.(obviously the Coffee Renoir is preventing this from happening).
A hot shower, shiny hair.
Blue skies and sunshine(it doesn't have to be hot - just bright and sunny).
That'll do it for me.

Re: Utopia

All of the above except for the tea.
Strong fresh black coffee in the morning
(Expresso and a glass of brandy)
Saturday morning, my favourite time of the week
Beautiful music, art, smells
Afternoon tea on a pretty cake stand
Champagne
Having nothing to do
Pottering about
Baking cakes and cooking nice food
Being with people I love and care about
But time on my own as well
Very early morning, watching the sun come up
Making people happy
And of course cake and chocolate which should really be in my room 101!

Re: Utopia

Not the expresso and brandy for breakfast though!

To expand a little...sitting in the Oaklea on Saturday afternoon, quaffing cider and enjoying the craic with Cashy and the chaps...standing on the Clayton End listening to the banter and experiencing that unique feeling that comes from supporting your hometown club...walking up Livingstone Road exulting in another well-deserved victory!
