No the olbas isn't good enough......and it might just make your nose sore...you need steam my girl...especially now you have a cough.
Even steam with nothing in it is better than the olbas thing.
It will make any mucus on your chest much thinner and easier to expectorate(cough up).

Well, surely the act of making babies and of course practicing for it must be a more enjoyable task than any physical contortion your body has to go through when being told to push, (funny that, busy giving birth but have to be reminded to push and yet every detail blow for blow can be repeated to anyone within earshot whenever you ladies need to and as the years go by you take almost as long to tell the tale as it did to do the deed and I mean do the deed right from conception!).

Vick isn't as strong as the menthol crystals.
And rubbing the vick on your feet...yes, your feet is excellent for stopping a tickly cough....though there might be fewer members who want to do the job for you.
And no BOWL of steam...it has to be an ordinary, cheap plastic jug....it concentrates the steam where it is needed most......the nose and the throat......where the germs lurk

And don't be asking me why the vick works so well by rubbing it on your feet....i don't know how this works, but a University research program in Canada found this to be true........and that a spoonful of runny honey is better than cough mixture.

Jen, the ginger and lemon concoction is good too if you cannot tolerate alcohol......ginger and lemon both have good germ killing properties.

Are you saying this alleviates the symptoms of a cough and combined cold ? I can tell you from experience that it doesn't, I tried it recently when I had a coughing spasm, plus I cant go back in Asda now.

Haha I really can't-I've been in isolation most of this week, The Mister won't even come near me for fear of catching this himself!

Thank you I will be doing this! I've been using a hot water bottle on my chest somebody recommended that. I think I may be getting slightly better

I'm better now and back at work . I thought I'd let you know as you're all obviously going to be very worried. :p
However, despite sleeping apart all week-I did give it to the Mister. I'm not popular. :(:hidewall:

Re: Grr I'm full of cold!

Oh don't bother about it...at least you shared!

It would only have been down to his immune system if he hadn't got it........viruses live on hard surfaces for a number of hours.
He only needs to have touched something that you had sneezed near,or breathed on and he would have got it.......AND in many cases these viruses are contagious before we know that we are infected.

Glad you are better.
