Makes Me Feel Glad To Be Old :)

Yet another day, yet another wander home.

I passed a couple with one in the pushchair, and two of about 3 or 4.

The lad was the oldest of the pair.

You see, they must have been down the centre and bought the lad a policeman's set from one of the pound shops.

He was resplendent with badge marked 'Sheriff' on his chest, carrying in one hand what I assume to be a wallet identifying him as the long arm of the law.

Unfortunately his sister, I assume it was his sister, was wailing most forlornly, she was fed up with being handcuffed to him and wanted to be free.

The Mother either through lack of tolerance or else being at her wits end stops pushing the chair and snarls at her spouse, 'will you for expletive deleted's sake sort this out? I can't carry on like this!

His reply was rather sullen and sort of, whimpishly giving over to the fact the two would now be joined together for life.

Pleaded, nay, implored, 'is it my fault he's lost the key?'.

Now come on, your bringing up three kids, you've bought some pound shop handcuffs, are they really going to be a problem?

Just sneezing on the plastic should have released them.

Knowing how, when we try to help, we get blamed especially if we break such an expensive item, I did the only thing possible, I left them to it, almost running home in case I wet myself with the thought of the situation!

Suppose it's just preparing them for life really, may as well get used to disappointment & hardship now so they aren't too surprised in the future.
