Just reading a sci-fi book

One of the main characters female was described as scratching her chin whilst in thought.

Now, I thought, I've never seen a woman do that, I've done it myself, I've seen other men do it.

I've never really thought about it, until now, do women scratch their chin as if stroking an imaginary beard, or is this the last preserve of male dominance within a world of equality?
:)

Don't think its possible, women, can't keep their jaw still long enought to scratch, thats one of the reasons why they don't grow beards, not still long enough for owt to take root.

As I was walking home, contemplating this, I realised, when a women does her expression of thinking, she puts an open palm against her cheek.

This is always followed by the term, 'Hmmm' and that can carry perfectly naturally, joy, anger, sarcasm, disbelief or even love.

I dare any man to be able to say which of these emotions she was actually portraying!

Probably the same reason they don't seem to fa ... Oops, ... break wind as much. It's not modesty; they don't keep their mouths closed long enough for the pressure to build up.
