Sex and Brains.

Just read of another mind-blowing study, which I’m sure will grab your attention. I quote from an article in our newspaper under the heading ‘Sex is good for the brain’:
“A study has found that middle-aged rats made more new brain cells after mating. Researchers at the University of Maryland also credited frequent sexual activity with increased brainpower, but the benefits to the brain were lost if the creatures stopped mating”.

Not sure if this applies to humans but if you know any middle-aged rats who are very brainy then you’ll know what they’ve been up to….

……doesn’t mention the old-timers and frequent sexual activity – all they’d probably get would be a heart attack!!!!!

Just as some refrain from alcohol in January, I decided to refrain from sexual activity. My wife decided against making the commitment.

Strange, a cock up is usually classed as lacking brains!

;)

A bit more regarding men and brains.

Scientists at London’s University College have done a study which they say shows that men in their 40’s who drink just two pints of beer a day risk accelerating mental decline by up to six years by the time they reach retirement age.

So it looks like less booze and more sex is the name of the game to keep the brain active.

Unfortunately it’s a bit too late on both counts for my old bloke.

Hmm!!! Men and brains...is that an oxymoron? (Sorry, couldn't help myself).

And several others on Accy Web, from some new posters it sounds like no sex since they were in their 20's and too much ale since.

Forgot to mention that the study re drink was carried out on a group of Civil Servants - maybe that's an added factor - oops!
The study was also carried out on the effects on women - but researchers said the results were not strong enough to be statistically significant and they could not draw any conclusion....

....I used to tell my bloke he should drink less beer and have more morning glories and Sunday afternoon delights, but would he listen....no, so it's his own fault if he should suffer from a 'mental decline'.
