just in case you need this today !
Basic pancake mix
110g/4oz plain flour, sifted pinch of salt 2 eggs 200ml/7fl oz milk mixed with 75ml/3fl oz water 50g / 2oz butter serve with what you like sugar lemon or orange etc sift the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl make a well in the centre of the flour and break in the eggs whisk together next gradually add the milk and water mix still whisking any lumps will disappear as you whisk melt the butter add 2 tbsp. of the butter to the batter mix and whisk in use the rest of the butter to lubricate the pan get the pan very hot then turn heat down to medium pore enough batter into the pan to just cover the base and cook till golden brown turn or if you think your good enough flip over and cook other side put your favourite topping on and enjoy I will be having a few today for tea:D:D PS don't buy the packet junk from the shop make your own much better |

My Dad used to make these for us. I can still taste how good they were, all covered in sugar and lemon juice!

I have never been a big fan of pancakes...but would never resort to packet mix...same with Yorkshire pudding....I make my own they are so much better(and I'm not bragging...it is what other people have told me)

Any food mass produced is crap compared to Home made, not rocket science, but probably is to some these days.:D

Make recipe as above walk over to cooker watch as the bowl hits the floor and look at the resulting explosion of batter that's gone everywhere on pants,cooker,drier, door, total mess try to clean up before wife gets home and make a second batch of batter:D
Don't think I will bother next year:D |
