I had a great birthday, thanks. I very rarely celebrate my birthday really, I am always bought a festival ticket for it from a close friend but that is in August so around a month later. I spent the whole day in college (last day of term) finishing off work so that was fun (!) and then I went for a very impromptu meal at a hotel, after friends (who didn't know it was my birthday!) invited us. Wasn't dressed for it, expecting just to share a bottle of wine for an hour...Once they learned it was my birthday, I was plied with the vileness that is tequila, and rolled in at 2 am. Never again!

(I am glad I did end up doing something on my birthday, though) :)

Sometimes those impromptu celebrations turn out to be the best.
There is just so much in the way of expectation invested in those planned events.....and sometimes they just don't work out.

That was exactly what happened really-Neill and I planned a day out in Liverpool on the Sunday but there were no trains due to the Tour De France. This was him trying to coax me into celebrating it. When that couldn't happen (I really, really didn't feel like driving, had done so much of it that weekend already), I just assumed that was it. It was a good night but jeeez my head was bad the next day!I love a few drinks but any more than that few,or if I don't pace myself wit alcohol I'm rubbish!

It was a lovely meal and really good company, though :)Thanks again for all the wishes.

I am still awake because I'm nervous. I'm flying to Cyprus tomorrow and I hate flying. Grr.
