RIP Robin, he was a naturally funny guy....

....why is it that clever comedians etc often suffer severe depression?

Because they get frustrated when no one else gets the joke.
I know this from experience.

I was thinking more because standard,non-comedy mode seems so low/boring in comparison to their comedy mode Less, you'll know all about this having a similar hypersensitive comedy mind ;)

Indeed and I prefer to be out of it whenever I can spare the time.
Though some folk go to great pains attempting to appear normal, let me tell you, in your case it's a waste of effort.

Thanks for the advice Less, allow me to return the favour.....

R.I.P. Robin, ignore the squabbling, some people have no decorum.

Even in death he would want to be remembered for humour NOT to have folk accused of squabbling, I do hope your funny bone will mend one day.
:p

One of the many sad aspects about the death of Mr Williams has been the failure of folk to respond to his death in an appropriate and respectful fashion, I believe my first comment on this thread was both.
I could of come on and said that the way he took his on life was cowardly .....

.....There is no "squabbling" it was just a bit of banter/humour :)

I think the correct question is why do some many that battle alcoholism suffer from depression. Not to mention history of drug abuse and divorces.

I think being a clever comedian is irrelevant.

You may be right R, When I heard he'd taken his own life (after my conspiracy thoughts cleared Erotic asphyxiation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), I sadly remembered his struggle with alcohol addiction. Then I wondered if he had tried treating his addiction and depression with any type of SSRIs (The side effects of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors can be troublesome at first but are suppose to improve with time)..... I've been reading how many folk end up losing themselves on them and it's pretty scary :(
