False Economy

Can you beat this?

A friend of mine went into a fast-food restaurant the other day to buy a takeaway. She asked for the special that was written up on the board. The special was for a hamburger, chips, drink and ice-cream for $5.50 and my friend said she would have the special but not to worry about the ice cream as she didn’t really want it. The girl said ‘then that will be $7.50’. When asked why it cost $2 more NOT to have the ice cream the girl said that without the ice cream it was no longer the special, as the special definitely had to have ice cream as part of it.

So my friend said ‘well then you might as well include the ice cream’ and the girl said ‘right, that will now be $5.50’.

I found the same. It's because while that excellent, skilled lady is driving, you, a stupid male driver, can't.
So less chance for you to have an accident! Simples.
