Irritating overuse/misuse of particular words.

Does anyone else cringe when hearing 'fantastic'?
...or is 'old age' lowering my tolerance level?

I know languages change over time, but overuse of this word causes me to judge the utterer to be 'of low intelligence'.

That's the one I overuse.

I can't watch Jamie Oliver any more because of "literally".

Basically, actually and the addition of the word 'like' at the end of every sentence are my pet hates.

If people start using words such as those out of context they will find themselves talking to their self, one word I particularly hate is guys, especially if they are talking about my Soldiers, the Accrington Heroes./
I alus thowt fantastic wur a dance, as in tripping too.
Most of these stupid expresions can be blamed on that gang of Septic Tanks on the other side of the Atlantic.

"to be honest", you should be able to assume that people are being honest anyway, no need to put this phrase in front of a sentence.

'To be honest', a phrase we all use when we know we are about to bend the truth in our favour.

To be honest, that's something I've never done.

What, you've never been honest?
How do we know you're not lying?
