Bothered at the front door
 

I answered the front door to two well dressed brief case carrying ladies late forties early fifties. Too late I thought but here we go. They asked me if I ate bread. Yes I do. Brown or white? White. Did I know brown bread was better for me and white actually bad for me? No I didn't. In fact in religious terms brown bread is Godly and white bread is the spawn of Satan. Did I know that? no I didn't. It turns out they were both Hovis Witnesses.

A couple of JW's came to my house a number of years ago, they asked my if they could talk about God, I said no as long as I could talk about being a Pagan.... There was quite a bit of a silence as they obviously weren't expecting that answer....

A mate of mine who can pull these things off without breaking out laughing when he was collared at the front door asked if they had come for the Satanists Coffee Morning. He got the same response. Me I would have broke out laughing before I finished the sentence.

As I shut the door I said "you can't give it away here"

The last time I had God botherers at the door one of them thrust a leaflet into my hand. I simply scumpled it up and placed it back into (his), hand.

"You didn't have to screw it up he muttered". Screw it up I countered, it's you and all the other God Botherers in the world that have screwed it up.

Another bloke who was stood behind the chief God Botherer, leaned forward and said,"I don't think there is any point in us calling again is there sir".
