It’s hardly quiet Less, lots of threads current – but they are all one-sided, and that side is dear old Stanley. I still don’t understand why those very prolific contributors to all things Stanley do not likewise feel inclined to contribute to other threads on Accy Web. Their choice of course, but I am sure they are very learned people who if they put their mind to it would be an extremely valuable asset to the general discussions, would have thought-provoking and interesting things to say, and would be instrumental in helping bring back this website to its former glory.

How’s that for a bit of over-the-top flattery, a bit of blarney, call it what you will – but it'll probably get us nowhere.

There are a few crossovers from the Footy threads, some of the posters apply their time to other threads than just Stanley. That said though, lots of the lads & lasses that comment on the Stanley threads don't bother elsewhere because it doesn't interest them.


Each to their own & all that, it is the same through all walks of life be they on a website like this, or out on the streets & in pubs, clubs, bars, you'll get your groupings of the like minded discussing what interests them, such is life & that is just the way it is.

LESS is correct i comment on stanley threads and the general ones its my choice, some people only comment on stanley threads but dont forget some only comment on general threads its what appeals to people. simple as.

Not exactly quitet...The Stanley forums are full of posts.

Maybe, after all the nonsense going on nationwide this week. People are trying to organise their lives. I doubt Açcyweb is a main priority right now. Your veil digs are pathetic, PM me if you've a problem with me.

I tried to get some people who lurk, to post again. I'm not going to be posting when my thoughts are deleted without an explanation.

Odders, I enjoy reading your threads and posts but some of these posts intrigue me with their sort of cryptic comments, especially the mention that a number of your thoughts are being deleted. Do you mean that some of your comments are not even seeing the light of day? To my knowledge the only ones that are not allowed are those that contain inappropriate content, or because of the words used. Is this happening now, or was it something in the past? You almost make it sound like it is a conspiracy, though I seriously doubt it is.

Also intriguing is why the animosity shown to one person in particular – which seems to be personal and of long-standing. A feud of some sort. Sounds a bit like a Western movie.

On the other hand, at least you do your bit for the forum, and that is really great. Have a good Christmas. Looking forward to reading your future comments.

By the way, Odders, re your thoughts being deleted, when you get to my age your thoughts will be deleted before you even think them…..

I have no problem with you, (though you do hint towards having a problem with me) Therefore anything I say to you will be on the open forum and not wasted filling up my outbox with useless P.M.'s

I have to admit I was having a dig, but it was against me not you.

The Stanley site was busy when you first returned with your first rendering in years, so I don't really think that's relevent to anything.

Well the Covid thread has been busy all through this so called Pandemic so most folks lives don't need to be organised, (we're still using the toilet rolls etc that we overstocked with at the beginning of the outbreak).

People have always lurked, the lurkers just aren't posters but they are welcome.


Ah, but I am doing just that, every post I throw out there I hope someone somewhere will just take enough interest and reply or maybe even come back after many years and start their own thread, (seemed to work with you).
Guilty as charged love being grumpy and it improves with age, sometimes I get absolutely rat-arsed on drink a wonderful feeling and a habit shared by millions. Trolling? More like showing an interest, for example you wouldn't like all those insults you put my way to go to waste so it's only polite to keep answering any of the bull you put on.

Kebabs might suit your mind set but I'm actually a chicken and chips kind of guy.

Well, hardly criminal damage, it would have been if I'd intended to break something more accidental damage, if it had happened at all, you see sometimes parts of posts or even whole posts contain some exaggeration just to keep the reader occupied.

Enjoy your time away and Christmas, come back refreshed and with some original threads to post, just don't expect me to miss you.

I doubt if it wasn't for me, you would still be having days where only Stanley forum is being used. I asked a simple question, and got nowhere in knowing. I don't do Face ache so it took some going bàck...

I might be crass and unconventional in my posts, It's just how I am. I apologise, certainly got attention.
