What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
i'm thinkin of starting up a new business along the lines of a franchise
but i'm just undecided as to what kind would be best or would run well one of the ones i've thought of is a well known drinks company - maybe in blackburn any ideas folks? |
Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
Its possible that this lot do franchising or then again they may not. However, for a chain restaurant the quality of the food is one hell of a sight better than your standard burger/pizza/kebab muck. I know there is no outlet in Accy and I doubt there is one in Blackburn, but they knock out trendy, low fat but quite spicey food and it would certainly be an attraction on the Accy culinary landscape.

Don't think you would make much in Accy unless it's cheap lol. (not that were all poor, just don't like parting with money) Could always try a smoothie bar there popping up everywhere at the moment. All you need is some fruit (i'm sure you could get some bargains on accy market) and a smoothie machine - oh yea and as long as you are good at selling ur bound to make a racket!

Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
They do smoothies at the Juice bar in Peel St.

i suggest the following steps 1: invest in a whole load of burgers 2: do a variety of double burgers with various garnishings like cheese , salad and bacon etc served with chips infact dont call them chips call them fries it sounds healthier 3: do smaller version of set meals for children and throw in a toy to keep them coming back for more 4: hire a clown preferably with big red hair and answering to the name ronold 5: advertising is just as important as the food i suggest a big yellow M with a bright red background , that should grab peoples attention heres the best one 6: call it fast food , take as long as you like because once you have somones money they will wait an eternity for their food infact make a game of it with your employees to see who can make people wait the longest |

I'm constantly thinking up new ideas for businesses, its just getting them off the ground. What about something for children, cos theres loads of them:) and they always want stuff:) and they're very persuasive:) I nearly bought a franchise for drama clubs. |
Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
circumstances change. i had sent off all the forms et all but things happen and the move has been dropped.
rip off for the customer or the store owner? ;) u know there's a tragic loss of good children clothing - adams and next seems to b all there is... but the problem is there's alot of regulation and safety - rightly so - around children so its quite hard to get ideas off the ground... |

There are rumours that Adams is going under. |

Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
*LMAO* @ chav
goin under eh? maybe i shud buy them out *L* the big prob is sourcing kids clothing to a high quality - or havin them made urself.. but for that u need some decent east asian contacts |
Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
when asda and tesco etc can knock decent gear out for 1.50 a top or jeans for kids its gonna be hard to compete
second hand shops for baby toys , prams etc usualy do well |
Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
Theres a paper called Daltons - for business normally at a good newsagents. They do a lot a different franchises in there. Maybe worth taking a look.

Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
A guy on my street sells personal attack alarms for 5 pounds and recently due to the goings on in ipswich he as sold loads of them. Could be something to look into as in cheaper personal secruity.

Once you know the regulations, its just a matter of adhereing to them, it can be done. Also, if you dont look after children for more than two hours, the rules arent the same.Thats why the kids clubs at the sports centre only last 1 hour 55 mins, the staff needn't be qualified. |
Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
Spoke to him today just to get some figures...
price to make the alarms including componants is £1.28p each so its over 200% profit and everyone wants loved ones to be safe as possible. They wont make you safe but they do make you safer so for 5 pounds i think its more than worth it and after hearing one go off i can tell you they bloody work lol. |
Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
hmm as i dont live in accy anymore im not sure of what there is now,but up here everything sells from pizza to beer, but theres a new thing going on in the night clubs and pubs its a vending machine that sells womens and mens fragrances and is doing very well,i dont know if they have any in accy or bburn but you could try a makeup vend machine or perfume just an idea,

they sell them in tesco for £3.99 |
Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
A good investment i think for people. A couple of quid for a little more safety is a good thing i think.

Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
Try a B&B, I certainly need one most nights I am out.

Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
Burger King? Both KFC and McDonalds seem to do very well in Accy?
|
Re: What franchise would run well in Accrington/local area?
Don't know if it has been mentioned but I reckon an indie/vintage clothing shop of some description would thrive around here.
There's only Burton & Officers Club for the lads (not sure about girls - not into that kind of thing :p) and they both sell the same kind of stuff. Just take Pop boutique in Manchester for example. Small place with a cafe downstairs. Brilliant place. Pop Boutique |
