Re: Christmas Jobs
Hi,
You can try searching for Christmas Jobs. That is where I found my first job and now work there full time and have done for the last 5 years or so. Good luck :hothothot |

Re: Christmas Jobs
I realise you want money now but here's another suggestion for boys and girls and this is what other youngsters did in earlier recessions when it appeared there were no vacancies on offer. You go around hairdressers, shops and factories asking if they'll take you on for no pay, you just say you want the experience of working with people. You'll find that once you get your foot through the door the job offers come in. It's important to be cheerful and willing to learn.
My offspring talked a local hairdresser into giving a Saturday unpaid job of sweeping up, making teas, and generally tidying up. On the 1st Saturday the customers were giving tips and on the 3rd Saturday the hairdresser gave a small wage. The Christmas tips were eye boggling :-) I also know of a 14 yr old boy who pleaded to work in an electronics factory on Saturday morning for no pay. The 2nd week he got paid and at 16 yrs old got given an apprenticeship with college day release. I'd say to anyone - take a deep breath and try it yourself. *Word gets around that there's a very pleasant willing worker who's looking for a paid job. *(I think it's called "networking" these days). Good luck. |
