Re: Fair Friday
no flash, and I'm assuming no tripod or it wouldn't be impressive... all I can say is WOW... to get that much light in with no shake is pretty amazing.. The colours look amazing to, has this been photoshopped or is it fresh from the camera?

Re: Fair Friday
Exactly.. just hand held.. been wanting a camera for ages that would take summat decent in funny lighting with no flash..... The real test will be Tuesday night under the floodlights in the Marsden cup final against Morecambe...
Yeagh hand held.. zoom and no zoom.. straight out the camera |
Re: Fair Friday
I also got the accy station and the pub on the way back.. Both very poorly lit and again NO flash used but some work in PSP done on them

Kipax, welcome to the site. Your photographs are brilliant. I would love to use them and the one of the train station on my website. Will you think about it please?
Wallis's fun fair is back in Accrington for the first time in three years - new rides and a new site - Eagle Street - (old Council Offices) It is open weekdays from 6pm until 10pm and Saturdays from 1pm to 10pm (No Sunday opening) The original siting for the fairground was of course Ellisons Tenement, then it was on the site where the new cinema is, off Hyndburn Road, it then moved, I believe, to land off Charter Street and then .. nothing, until now (correct me if I am wrong on these sites) The photo I am showing was taken in 1995, off Hyndburn Road |
Re: Fair Friday
You can use whatever pics you want... Maybe then you will link to my website considering you ahve been promising to do so for about a year now ........ Big Smile :)

Hi, I called round at the fairground on Sat teatime. I was not impressed - bit of a difference from the fairgrounds of 100 years ago.
When the trams were introduced c1886 the fair moved from Peel Street and went onto Ellisons Tenement on Hyndburn Road, now of course built on |

Re: Fair Friday
Kipax,
Is the pub the ex-AUEW club on Blackburn Road? |
Re: Fair Friday
I thought it was a no-smoking restaurant now....I did'nt realise it was still a pub
|
Re: Fair Friday
As far as I know its a non smoking restraunt... Pic taken from the footbridge of over railway line.
I used the same camera on saturday at football and wasn't impressed. Fast moving objects and speed of focus/zoom let it down a bit... So going to try it Tuesday at a night match and if it doesn't do better than my existing digital (that is terrible at night games) then its going on ebay..... But I have high hopes :) Used my original camera on Sunday went to Northampton and took pics of Norway disabled v mascots (inc Accringtons own stan the monkey) football and England v Caucasu national multidisabled football.. Lots of pics on my website now :) |
Re: Fair Friday
