Re: Guess where this is.
Is this something to do with Walter Marsden the sculptor by any chance?

Not exactly.

Re: Guess where this is.
Have a closer look at the decoration surrounding the monogram, this may give you a clue.

Re: Guess where this is.
William Morris?
|
Re: Guess where this is.
Cant really make out the decoration to be honest. Accy, Church, Ossy, Bash?
|
Re: Guess where this is.
The William Morris would be a good thing to have - if only!
The decorations surrounding the monogram are ears of wheat. |
Re: Guess where this is.

Re: Guess where this is.
Accyplus gets the coconut. Yes it is William Mosley's bakery on Jacob Street.
First established in a warehouse built by Wm. Mosley, the family had previously been at Altham Corn mill. The new bakery was built in 1894 and extended in 1918 and again in 1927. Quite sophisticated for it's time it had a fully automated bread making plant installed in 1924. The photograph shows the stone above the entrance to the offices and board room. |
Re: Guess where this is.
What was that rhyme we used to sing when I was a kid?
"Don't eat Mosleys bread, it makes you sh*t like lead.........." can't remember any more! |
Re: Guess where this is.
