Oh yes! Indeed. The dog and I were there today and we were definately in Accrington. We wanted to go to Blackburn, but it was too hot and so we decided not to. So we stayed in Accrington instead.

It's where the old Church used to be on Oak Steet. This is accross from The Job Centre.

It is cast iron lamp standard, the only remaining peice of the Congregational Church on Oak Street. quite why this bit was left is anyones guess, but there it is. |

I spent the afternoon in the Reference Library today and I noticed that they have several handbooks from the Congregational Church full of the most amazingly fascinating mundane information. It was quite nice, I had the Local Studies section all to myself for three hours - luxury!
