Re: A room without a view??
Interesting looking building bob, That is render on the walls and round the window? But it's not all over the building or, is it.

Re: A room without a view??
Ok Here is a clue - of sorts
What is it that connects Earl Grey, WilliamIV, Sir Robert Peel, Caroline Norton and Queen Victoria, a city in Australia and a town in Derbyshire? Doug: Yes the render covers the side of the building. |
Re: A room without a view??
I,m having a guess at some connection with lord Melbourne, so is it on melbourne st?

Re: A room without a view??
Caroline Norton had it away with Lord Melbourne and lost custody of her Children after a high profile Court case. Lord Melbourne offered to resign from parliament but was rebuked by William IV.
Is this an institution named after Melbourne? |
Re: A room without a view??
Correct, the connection is Lord Melbourne, or rather his name. I'm not sure if the former prime minister ever had any connection with Accrington. The photograph is part of what remains of Melbourne Mill on Water Street. So I guess that both KSH and Doug share the coconut. Well done chaps!
