So that's what it's like over there! Although it's been a lovely bright day here, haven't been able to see across the bay at all thanks to the mist. When it's really clear we can see Piel Island and the turbines.

Hope you had a good day - did you actually get across to the island?

no didn't get across, ferry isnt running until easter, apparently can walk round from Walney Island, but got dropped off at Roa Island, and walked round the coast to Walney to get picked up, was a bit different, and as you say the mist, spoilt the chance of "good" pics

Best I can do for you Sue is a photo of Piel Island I took last year but as usual the weather was muggy.

The other photo is the lifeboat station next to where I stood to take the photo of the island.

A long drive for nothing really.

Good grief that area with the flat gravestones looks awful with grass spouting up all over the place. I hope they have someone to keep that area mown in the summer but why they put those stones flat in the first place beats me.

Thank you Russell, that's a great photo of the island. I remember the lifeboat station from when we were there a few years ago.
