Innocent is one way of putting it, gormless is another, if it doesn't hit me in the face I have to have it pointed out.

It didn't cross my mind either...well, until Mick said it was a family site.
See...to the pure, all things are pure!

Same as you Margaret, I never even thought anything in the subject could be twisted, unless someone has a twisted mind.
I am regretting choosing the theme now.

I would like to say thank you those who voted for my picture, I think it is the subject not the quality of the photographs which won me the last two competitions.

Thank you also for all the "likes" I have received for my "today in pictures" posts.
I think a lot of you may know why I had been very low and down in the dumps for a while but getting out and about and taking photographs again has helped me on my way.
I feel as though I belong to a nice group of people who are my virtual family.
No doubt one day I shall meet some of you, you are in for a shock, be prepared.

Russell, well done for winning two comps.

I can tell you are bouncing back from the fact that you are posting more again and some great photos from your days out. A long winter can't have helped your mood in your recent circumstances.

Glad you feel we are a family, that is a lovely thought, and we are always here to help and support.

I'm now off to look in my toy cupboard and see what I can find.

Your time clock brought back some great memories of the gas board yard on Hyndburn Rd in the early '60s. 2 mins late and you got quartered and the office manager stood there making sure you didn't clock your mate in. Off to Alaska for a couple of weeks so will be AWOL.

Couldn't agree more! I'm so glad that Dave set up the Today in pics thread and from that came the new competitions. There is a good feel to it all -no sniping and friendly comments and feedback are always useful to us all. :)

Re: New Photo Competition 14

To be fair the photo comps were running well before this thread was posted......but there had been a glitsch in the software...which meant that posting to the comps was problematic.
However, you are right about the good natured feel to this thread and the pics are just beautiful.

So it doesn't take us by surprise, you could always post a picture of yourself.

Thanks for those kind words, I think a lost toy has a sadness to it.

Me too...I think of the child who has lost it......and I know this is going to sound proper daft, but I really feel for the lost toy...having lost a loving owner.

Agreed - the word that came to me was "Pathos" - a seemingly insignificant trace of something that had happened.

Re: New Photo Competition 14

Recently a childs 'blanky'(one of those bits of cloth tha toddlers carry around - except that this was an upmarket version - it had a Rabbits head on it and was embroidered with the name Olivia) was left on a wall in Blackburn Road...it was there for five days...on the sixth day Marnie picked it up and took it home...she said she was sad to think of the rabbit out in the dark on its own. I knew exactly what she meant.
