Here is a wonderful old view looking down from the top of Oak Street. This site is where North Lancs Training now have their new offices. Bet you never knew all this property had been there, eh?

Yep, its Oak Street Congregational. Was next to The Abbey pub on Bank Street and facing where the Job Centre now is, on Oak Street
1. Shows the church in all its former glory
2. Photo taken by owd Bert in the 1960's
3. Internal view of the church
4. One of the remaining "pillars" - on the wall, across from the Job Centre

Love the photos Atarah. We seem to have lost some far more interesting buildings than we now have. Those shops were quite something.
