A Decent pub in Church
Could somebody please recommend a decent pub in or around Church?
The place I have been using just lately is causing me a few problems as the Landlord has been using me as a test-pilot to see if his beer has gone off or whether it is still fit for human consumption. This is becoming something of an embarrasment because now the locals won't touch their beer until at least ten minutes after I have drunk my first pint, if after this period of time I have not had to make a dash to the toilets quickly unfastening my trousers they all declare the beer o.k. I'm not as young as I was and this routine is now starting to tell on me, one of these days I am not going to have the speed to make the 25 yard dash in this new sport called the toilethon and I would like to get the chance to digest my food before entering the techno-coloured hurling event! I am considering my own form of revenge though, one of these days I might just go in wearing incontinent pants, thus removing the need for me to make such urgent journeys, but the pleasure I will gain from the rest of them having to queue for the only cubicle in this establishment will be immense! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_2_16.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_4_3.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_4_1.gif |

Less, if you can't hold your beer, then stick to coca-cola.

Re: A Decent pub in Church
I think there's one called The Deer or The Roebuck or something. I've heard that one's not bad. ;) The landlord is a lover of real ale.

Re: A Decent pub in Church
Well, I am reluctant to interfere in matters that either don't concern me or that I know nothing about, but .....
One suggestion could be to drink a little slower (but don't ask me how, I don't know), then you will know the beer is off before you have to make the dash. The commode could be a good idea, but just make sure that Staggeringman hasn't got his wires crossed and it's just a fancy name for a chest of drawers. Now I'll shut up. What would I know about pubs in Church? ..... |
Re: A Decent pub in Church
I'd give you some Less but it won't let me give any more yet. :p
Is Staggers offering to buy that commode for you? You might be able to re-sell it on eBay and make a fortune. |

Why not just drop a hint that you know someone high up in the Brewers Association and Trading Standards Less.Surely he would not risk his liscence.
