Oooh what kind of crazy aren't you going Nette? Hot flushes? I'm having some very funny turns myself sometimes, but then again I'm peculiar enough anyway.

Haven't got there yet Nette, but have a look into herbal remedies, there supposed to be very good for the symtoms without having to resort to drugs.

well my darling daughter as i said ..........."thats life"for us women, now my advice (which is what your after)......is as grego says go to a herbalist shop , not a stall on market, let them ask questions, then they will help you , as they did a very good friend of mine ....who had got to suicide pitch, there is help out there, ask as you are doing, ..............& MEN please be TOLERANT ....we can't tell you why we cry for nothing,.... we can't tell you why we ache all over.........we can't even explain why we feel extra grumpy, ..... it just happens !.........glad im on my own these days i get grumpy at the door posts now he he he .

The only problem i have with the menopause is my memory, it's been terrible for the last few years.I can't seem to remember things.I have not had problems with hot flushes or anything else, maybe i have just been lucky.

Nette......go to the Library and get out a book by Miriam Stoppard. She talks about all the symptoms of the Menopause and talks about the things that you can do to help yourself.
It is very easy to read and understand......do this before you visit a herbalist and part with your hard earned cash. The book you want is called 'Menopause' and it is published by Dorling Kindersley. If you have any specific questions you could PM me.....it used to be a subject I was well versed in when I worked on the Gynae Unit.

Re: Early Menopause?

The only menopause I have had, is the one where I was on the receiving end of it.

My mum went through this a couple of years ago, and she thought she was going MAD!! ( then again so did I)............she was murder to be around, always grumpy, and totally cheesed off with life (but then again some things never change).

She went to the doctors, simple blood test, yes she was going through the change. She is now on HRT, but she wasn't keen on going on HRT, because of all the media attention it was getting at the time.
But it is like she says, she would rather have the side affects of the HRT than be in prison for murder!!!! which I'm sure would have come sooner or later had she not gone on HRT!!!

I'm really not looking forward to going through this, as I am BAD enough with PMT!!!

Nette, I can't answer that without knowing what your symptoms were.......both of those things can be useful for some of the symptoms, but may not help others. But both of those remedies will do you no harm as long as you follow the correct dosages.

I really feel for you Nette, I can only begin to imagine what it must be like - seems to me to be like PMT but lasting longer than that, and I'm a bit of a nightmare for it on my period week.

Oh the joys of being female and getting older eh?

Hi Nette, I have tried everything, "soya, evening primrose, herbal pills etc... but nothing seems to stop my terrible "hot flashes" the mood swings seem to have calmed down, and I not as anxious anymore. But these bloody hot flashes really get to me, I hope you find something better than I have,
Good luck

I have all the problems listed along with the loss of S*x drive. I'm not to bothered after all I think I deserve a rest after 30 odd years.
My Dear Hubby gets pretty fed up.
Poor thing I keep telling him it dosn't last forever.
Makes things worse because he's going through the Male Menopause.

[quote=ANNE]I have all the problems listed along with the loss of S*x drive.

I have been going through the menopause since my heart bypass nearly two years ago, at first my Doc gave me a higher dose of HRT but I had already been on HRT for 10 years since a hysterectomy... I gave up taking them cause of the media hype so now I take nothing for it, I just put up with it, unlike you nette I have no-one here to get annoyed with lol (only my cats and myself hehe) :) The one thing no-one seems to be able to answer is how long it lasts for.....
