Asperger's syndrome

i'm trying to find out for a friend of mine who has a 14 year old son (and is awaiting tests for aspergers) if there are any schools in lancashire who cater for children with this syndrome, ive spoke to another friend of mine about it, who's son is also waiting for results, i'm sure it would benefit her too if anyone knows anything more about it other than the stuff you can get online (we've trawled through them for ages and dont seem to be able to get anywhere)

most schools cater for children with learning disabilities, but none seem to cater for children with aspergers, surely by law the goverment has to provide your child with education to suit their needs?

i know tinks has mentioned this before

cheers lesley, nlw seems a hell of a long way to send your child, you'd think with more and more children getting diagnosed with it there would be more schools in and around lancashire which cater for such thing

I know of people who have sent children to some of these fee paying schools and you can apply for funding firstly through the education authority and secondly its with contacting the autistic society as they have also helped many families with education

Re: Asperger's syndrome

my 14 yr old daughter has aspergers and she goes to northcliffe special needs school in great harwood, she also has neurofibromatosis, broadfield in oswaldtwistle caters specifically for all aspects of autism, hope this helps, you need to have a special educational needs statement before any special school will accept you.
