Catching A Bus ?
My car is going for a service in the morning. As a result I need to catch a bus.
Any tips on using this mode of transport will be welcome. Do you still pay the clippie, or just jump off the back when she isn't watching ? Does one still stick one's hand out to attract the drivers attention ? |

Re: Catching A Bus ?
As one who has recently resumed using buses, I was surprised how much cleaner they are nowadays --- just remember that you have to press a bell when your stop is next --- a driver once took me past my stop because I didnt, even though I was standing beside him.
No clippies -- except on Blackpool trams. |

Re: Catching A Bus ?
I catch buses every time i go anywhere - tis the only mode of transport unless you count my feet and my bro's/sisters cars and taxi's.
Dont forget margaret most of the buses have now got the hydraulic suspension and so can lower the bus down to footpath level for oap's and mums & dads with pushchairs and wheelchairs. Just make sure dave that you catch the right bus dont want you ending up somewhere you shouldnt be!!! |
Re: Catching A Bus ?
I used to laugh every time I got on the bus with my Grandma.
There was a sign saying ' Please show your pass to the driver' and someone had scratched the letter 'p' from pass. LOL We laughed at that every time! |
Re: Catching A Bus ?
You do still stick your hand out for the bus to stop to pick you up. If you don't it could go sailing by.

Re: Catching A Bus ?

Senility getting to you ?. It was my 21st  This thread was a waste of time anyway. Crossing the road near the market and the ****** drove off, so I walked it. Mind you not only did I save my £1 fare but I made 2p profit on Willows Lane :rofl38: |
Re: Catching A Bus ?
No the little lady you live with told me it was your 60th so blame her:D

Re: Catching A Bus ?
Ive just started using the bus to get to college. There not that bad and are quite clean. However the other day i missed the bus so had to get one from accrington town centre to blackburn town centre. I had no idea where to go etc however a nice old man pointed me out where to go and how very nice of him! In previous occasions when i have asked bus drivers if they go such a place they talk to me like crap and give you a funny look however the bus driver on the 22d i think well the bus that goes from accrington directly to blackburn was so polite when i asked him and so very cheerful! :) I think bus drivers have changed aswell. I dont know who the driver was but what a nice bloke!

Re: Catching A Bus ?
There are quite a few different services that go from Blackburn from Accrington. Have you any idea which company owned the bus you caught?
