Cleaning
 

I´ve always been useless at cleaning and I´m sure that there are loads of easier ways of doing things which I know nothing about.

I really hate doing this window thing and tend to leave it for ages. It doesn´t have any glass, is open to the outside and the louvre thingies don´t move.

Any ideas on how to clean it without spending three hours with a damp rag?

I can see where you are going and thanks for trying but the slats are rigid and very close together.

My Spanish neighbours seem to have it sussed but I feel too stupid to ask.............hence the enquiry.

Ask it is probably something so easy. Never mind about feeling daft your neighbour will be glad to help

wrap damp cloth around a ruler and taht shoudl fit between the slats X

No, the ruler with a damp cloth is a good idea, although i would use an old sock instead of a cloth ( i like using old socks for cleaning lol) :D

A old wollie glove...just stick ya hand in:D

Get a clean dry paint brush and brush over door to remove loose dust.
Then get a clean damp cloth and spray on two the cloth not the door as this will cause
drips and runs leaving pools of dirt in gaps
And for the fiddly bits a thin stick or cane and tape cotton wool around end and spray with chemical and push along groves .
Give it a try it worked for me

Thank you all so much for your helpful suggestions. I was hoping to get it done today as sister-in-law turns up tomorrow but other mucky stuff had priority! I just hope that she doesn´t look in that direction.

She´s here for a week and then I´ll have a go at it.........watch out for the ´after´ pics. xx

A spray bottle with cleaner in it followed by a quick burst with the hose pipe!

a paint brush, thats how we used to clean them in spain
