Ant farm
 

Does anyone know how to get rid of ants...in my lawn??

Just finished mowing the thing and seen my grass moving!...on closer inspection, there were loads of the little blighters hobbling along with what i presume are eggs (white things) all in one little bundle .....now how do i get rid without harming me grass?;)

Tried mowing and sucking em up, but no the little buggers are still there:(

All i can see is a patch of grass with ants in it and what looks like their eggs, i thought the eggs would be hidden but they are not.....theres no hill or moulds, why would they nest just on the lawn?

anyway need to get rid as my son got bitten once, so im presuming it was one of those ants that did it:(

LOL.....they have a paved garden!

You can buy stuff from the likes of B & Q or even Asda do something I think. It kills the Ants, sprinkle it down, they take it to their "nest" and should kill them off i think

put some salt down, you can get it cheap enough from the supermarket, they hate the stuff (so i was told by my mate last week, she had them and it worked)

You can buy a product called " nippon " from wilkingsons .

On a cheaper note some normal pets bed sprays seem to work but you really need to find all the nests in order to get shut

I think you've got ants with a serious psychological problem. :D

My garden is, just about, one large ant hill but they are all underground. They don't cause much of a problem until they decide to swarm and mate (probably any day soon) when all the males come out with ridiculously large wings and fly around looking for a bit of nooky with a potential queen. I'm sorry to say I usually stamp on the poor little beggars before they can say they didn't die wondering. :(

I have never had ants' eggs out in the open in my garden. They are usually very solicitous of their babies and tuck them up in underground nurseries. When disturbed, I've seen them scurry away with the eggs in their jaws trying to find another secret place to hide them.

Are you growing any unusual plants nearby? ;)

you've probably mowed their ant hill down -
either that or its something to do with the bottoming house prices :D

they will want to get their eggs out of the sun so put a box on the lawn and the should take them in there for the shade - then just throw the box away -maybe ??

You'll just have to get the Pied Piper of Ossy panther, lead um down to the Tinker Brook:D they're not right keen on water:rolleyes:
