Corgi gas has changed!
 
This thread is a bit late really, but I have been waiting to see how effective the 'mega' advertising campaign was going to be, for those not in the know, Corgi gas registration is no more! As of April the 1st 2009, Capita will run the gas registration scheme, under the banner of 'The Gas Safe Register', in my opinion, it took Corgi around 15 years to be truly recognised, but Capita reckon they will saturate public awareness within 2 years, funny then, that I havnt seen, read, or heard a solitary advert to this effect yet. :eek::confused:

heard about it a few weeks ago from a plumber then from watchdog on bbc1

soon you wont be able to change your own lightbulbs

the law now states that you cant connect your own cooker and british gas quoted me £90 to simply connect a bayonett clip style fixture

screw that i did it myself it isnt rocket science

once i had checked for leaks with my lighter i was set to go :rolleyes:

I thought you could connect it if it uses a connected that is self sealing on both halves of the connector.

I have electric oven and the big fat connector and gas pipe was in the way so I took it out and capped it off.

I saw it on Watchdog too accyman, but it also surprised me that there were still people who were not Corgi registered, who were still fitting gas appliances, was there any penalties Derek for people like this and if so what were they:confused:
