Re: Can anyone recommend an airport transfer?

It can sometimes be cheaper to take your car and park on of the many park and ride services available. Try this link http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/m...ent/CarParking

There are quite a few options available. We always use the shuttle park.

Re: Can anyone recommend an airport transfer?

I know its an old thread but how much have people paid to get from Ossy/Accy to manchester airport and back please?

There are 5 of us but I dont think that will make a difference.
I have been given a price but have no idea what the going rate is.

I dont want to ring round just yet if the price I have been given is good.

Last time was seventy.
Specialist airport transfer firm in Darwen.

Max Cabs are the cheapest, and have mini-buses for airports.

Am using them.

Sorry, wasn't being cagey, by not saying how much Max Cabs are charging.

We're flying from Leeds/Royston Vasey airport.

:D

My mate had a very unpleasant taxi home from Manc airport the other week courtesy of a local taxi firm ( I've removed the name in case they kick off!) who forgot his child seat, hence 8 month old 2 stone baby on lap all the way home and they then delayed returning said car seat for a further 6 hours despite him making 3 phone calls, and they even threatened to charge him for dropping it off!

Re: Can anyone recommend an airport transfer?

Max cabs are £60 return to manchester airport, Leeds ( which is actually nearer to us than the real leeds city centre ) would be £75. When i go from liverpool i drive there because the car park across from the check in is only £30 for a week !! and is just yards away from doors.

I've booked transfers through Direct Destinations for this week - £150 for 12 people to Manchester Airport Return. They're based in Great Harwood now. Will report on how the service is when i get back on Tuesday.

I thought you were going to offer us a lift when I saw you had posted in this thread.

Anyway I asked Rhonda if she wanted to go out the week before while I am working so they would get 3 weeks away and she decided to wait for me.

That's my plan for a nice quiet flight out down the pan :D

Just wanted to confirm that these guys were brilliant. They called me to confirm the pickup the night before, turned up ten minutes early and he wasn't imping around on a mobile phone the whole time. On the return, the guy had no problems waiting an hour for us to clear Manc Airports amazingly shoddy new automated passport ID system, and happily added an extra drop off on the way back for no extra charge.

Thanks very much for the information about this company.

As well as being very professional, they are actually as competitive as some of the cab firms I called for quotes.

In fact they came back with a price as cheap as the cab firms, at £110 return, for six people to Leeds/Bradford.

I certainly have more confidence that they'll be there to pick us up at 4am.

The lady is calling me back tomorrow to confirm our booking.

Thanks Pudwoppa. That's one thing I'm no longer worrying about.

:)

Phoned me back, as promised, and now booked.

Very impressed.

Professional, and friendly.

Very grateful for the recommendations in this thread.

Thank you.

Direct Destinations I would recommend.

Very professional service, as well as being one of the most competitive quotes I obtained.

Because they were late picking us up both ways and we were very close to missing the plane from Manchester.
